Where To Use Compost

Before knowing where to use compost, what is compost?

Compost is a mixture that consists largely of decayed organic matter and is used for fertilizing and conditioning land. With that said let's look at some great places to use compost.

  1. Sprinkle your lawn a few times a year.

  2. Use your compost as top dressing for flower beds, and at the base of trees and shrubs.

  3. Mix compost in with garden and flower bed soil. Especially, for maximum performance in Olle Metal Garden Beds.

  4. Use as a conditioner when planting or transplanting trees, flowers, and shrubs by filling the hole with half compost and half soil.

  5. Make Compost Tea. Yes! Fill an old pillowcase with 1 liter of compost. Tie the top and 'steep' the bag overnight in a garbage can filled with water. This compost tea (which should not be drank) can be used to water plants and gardens.
